It was late March of 2010 when I went to Interview Charanjit Singh Channi and Gurjit Purewal in Surrey British Columbia, who were invited by Govt. of Punjab to assemble a team of best Kabaddi players and bring a Kabaddi team to Punjab, India to take part in first ever World Cup of Kabaddi being held by Govt. of Punjab with the prize money of Rs. One Crore (roughly $2,50,000) to the winner. Mr. Channi invited us to watch the Kabaddi World Cup with the Canadian Kabaddi team, I accepted the offer immediately without realizing that this instant reaction will bring memories that I can never forget in my entire life.

Guru Nanak Sikh Gurudwara Surrey held its Annual sports tournament in its Kabaddi and soccer grounds. This event brings large crowds every year and this year was no exceptions. This event was held on Labor Day long week end on September 4, 2010 and went on for three days, first day there were soccer, athletics, wrestling, Kabaddi and volleyball matches of initial stages were organized and second day there were semi finals and finals of all the events.
